Growing Tips
Plant in early Spring
Crinum lilies are large, heat and moisture-loving plants.
They are often used for a short, growing hedge where blooms and fragrance can be enjoyed.
Plant crinum lilies in groups, spacing plants 4 to 6 feet apart. The foliage can be trimmed for a tidier appearance.
Plant the large bulbs in full sun in early spring in well-draining soil. As moisture helps this large plant become established, create a mound of soil around the outer edges of the crinum plant, which helps in directing water to the roots. But bulbs should not sit in water. Crinum flowers appear in late summer, offering fragrance and large, showy blooms.
